Achieving authenticity in a novel sometimes means diving headfirst into the ocean not knowing how deep it is. But sometimes the ideas come from the depths of an ocean we are already swimming in.
With my first ever historical fiction it’s been the later. Now I’m not saying eight arms helps me play these things but it doesn’t hurt either.
